Why do we even want to exercise?

I can tell you the point of exercise (for me, at least) is not:

  • To get skinny. Or jacked. Or whatever the appearance du jour is.
  • To lift as much as humanly possible or compete in a strong man competition….or any kind of competition.
  • To make myself as sore as possible or to work off some imagined dietary wrong-doing.

The point for me, and for most of you, is to be able to do my regular life without pain. Today and for many, many years to come, I want to be able to pick up my daughter without low-back pain. I want to be able to work with power tools without shoulder pain. I want to wake up in the morning with more energy because I haven’t been tossing and turning all night.

Are there often aesthetic benefits, too? Yeah. I’d be lying if I said I was mad about those. But that’s not the POINT.

Exercise, for me, is never the goal. LIFE is the goal and exercise is the tool. What we do in training is gradually and systematically increase our capacity (muscular strength, flexibility, cardiovascular stamina, etc.). It takes careful planning and constant feedback to create a program that allows you to continue to increase your capacity without injury or pain.

Simply showing up to group workouts isn’t enough. (It’s an incredible start, and kudos to those who do, but it’s not a plan in itself.) Simply following a plan you found online isn’t enough.

Previously the only way to get custom support to work through your issues and tailor a plan to you has been through personal training.

It’s still an excellent option, but I wanted to create something that would be more affordable (say, free?) and specifically address the nagging aches or pains that have kept you from being able to start or maintain an exercise program. THAT is what I’m offering in this masterclass.

This is not a workout class! This is my 4-step proprietary method that you can use to create your own custom plan for managing your unique aches and pains. Once you learn it, you can rinse and repeat anytime something crops up. You do not need to be injured or “flared up” to benefit from this workshop — the principles apply no matter what — but if you are experiencing pain, my goal is that you will walk away in significantly less discomfort than you started.

Kelly Bryant is a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT-200), Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT), NASM Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT), and Pilates & Barre Instructor. Whew! That was a mouthful.

After becoming pregnant with her own daughter in 2018, she realized how mediocre most of the info out there about pregnancy, postpartum, and women’s health in general is. So, she set out to learn everything she possibly could. She is passionate about helping women through every stage of life  with her proprietary method integrating, posture, flexibility, exercise, and the nervous system.
